Every year many lives are lost through suicide, and people always wonder what they could have done to prevent it. Local Charity PIPS Programmes was established as a result of the tragedies that took place in Belfast in 2003.

PIPS offer advice and support to those affected by suicide and self harm, they help individuals to recognise signs at an early stage and take preventative measures to support people through difficult times. PIPS work to increase the community’s awareness around these issues by breaking down the stigma and the barriers which stop people from seeking help. Copius, through a professional relationship have become increasingly aware of the good work of PIPS and therefore it is our nominated charity for 2010 / 2011. On the 18th November all of the Copius Team will demonstrate their commitment to the cause by “Walking on Fire”, to raise vital funds, all in aid of PIPS and its’ operations. PIPS receive no government funding, therefore such events are essential so their work can continue. All money raised will go towards counselling, therapies, family support and suicide prevention training.
