Catch 22 (National Support Project) - Catch 22 is the largest charity for young people in England. Copius Consulting have been working closely with Catch 22 to support the delivery of the National Positive Futures Programme to 128 projects across the country. Copius have been delivering regionalised training to projects that want to establish a social enterprise and then mentoring the projects through to establishment of social enterprise - this has helped create a long term, sustainable future for the Positive Futures programme
Result: Copius Consulting is now working with 8 Positive Futures Projects to establish a social enterprise in their area in partnership with the Local Authority. A waiting list of 20 additional projects is currently in place to receive support.
Gingerbread (A National Charity for Lone Parents) - Copius Consulting were contracted by the organisation to investigate the potential for establishing a social enterprise to help create a long term reserve for the charity and to meet the needs of a changing 3rd sector, including reductions in their core grants and funding from Government. Copius Consulting worked tirelessly with the senior management team within Gingerbread to create a uniform offer that they could deliver under the banner of a social enterprise.
Result: Gingerbread established Possibilities NI Ltd in January of 2009 and have had a very successful first year of trading. Liam McStravick currently serves on the Board as a Director following the delivery of this contract.
Loughside Boys Football Club - Copius Consulting have been working closely with the North Belfast based boys football club since 2004. In early 2006, Copius Consulting worked closely with the club to develop a business plan that paved the way for the establishment of their social enterprise - Loughside FC Ltd. The business was initially supported with over £100,000 of European Grant funding and continues to trade today, with all profits being reinvested in the club to keep it developing and to keep them in front of their competition.
