VDA Volunteer Database - Copius Consulting worked with NICVA to assess the volunteering opportunities available across Northern Ireland. This required the development of appropriate survey methods and tools to effectively gather and analyse information regarding the provision of more complete information on volunteer organisations across NI and the opportunities they offer. This work consisted of sampling in excess of 20,000 organisations and was conducted in early 2010.
Result: Copius Consulting and NICVA produced a comprehensive findings report presenting the a complete picture of the range of volunteering opportunities across Northern Ireland
The Hyde Housing Association - Copius consulting worked to complete a community survey with groups and selected individuals across the Islington area of North London with the ultimate aim of informing the fit out and provision of youth activities / facilities from renovated garage units at the base of social housing blocks on the Ringcross Estate. This work involved gathering and qualifying opinions and views from an extensive range of third sector and statutory sector organisations, thus informing potential usage, complementary best practice provision as well as exploring possible management and letting options.
Result: Hyde Housing Association has now fully developed a youth facility at the heart of the Ringcross Estate for local young people that meets their needs, is fully representative of the local provision and involves all key stakeholders.
Hazelwood Community Partnership - The HCP is a cross sectoral partnership that aims to assist in addressing complex community issues that affect the Greater Whitewell area of North Belfast - one of the most contentious areas of the City. Copius Consulting has worked on a number projects on behalf of the Partnership - one of which was to evaluate its development and delivery since its establishment and establishment a framework for effective delivery going forward; and the second piece was to conduct a survey of the young people across the Greater Whitewell to assess the youth provision in the area.
Result: the development of an agreed vision, aims and objectives, and governance structure for the Partnership and the production of a twelve month implementation plan to address gaps in provision for young people across the area
